Breanna's Plan for:

Reproductive Freedom

The Fight to Defend Our Basic Human Rights

With abortion bans and restrictions advancing across the country following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the urgency of protecting reproductive freedom in Virginia has never been greater. Healthcare decisions belong between patients, families, and their doctors, not politicians.

While extreme agendas threaten access to basic care, Breanna is committed to taking decisive, proactive action. It isn’t enough to just hold the line; Virginia must actively close gaps in healthcare access, protect patient privacy, and support the medical providers who care for our communities.

Key Legislative Priorities

Breanna will champion three crucial bills designed to safeguard privacy, expand access to care, and improve maternal health outcomes across the Commonwealth:

1. The Maternal Data Privacy Act

Breanna Fights For, "Your Health, Your Data: Keeping Private Life Private."

In the digital age, reproductive healthcare extends to our phones and digital footprints. Out-of-state prosecutors and corporate data brokers should never be allowed to track or weaponize sensitive personal health information.

  • What it does: Prohibits tech companies, health-tracking apps, and pharmacy data brokers from selling, transferring, or responding to out-of-state subpoenas regarding personal reproductive health data.

  • Why it matters: It stops location tracking near reproductive health clinics and shields personal period- and fertility-tracking app data, ensuring your digital life stays private and safe from legal overreach.

2. The Contraceptive Equity & Rapid Access Act

Breanna Fights For, "Contraception When You Need It, Where You Are."

Contraception is fundamental healthcare, but administrative hurdles and out-of-pocket costs still prevent many Virginians from getting the supplies they need.

  • What it does: Authorizes credentialed pharmacy technicians to dispense over-the-counter and standard oral/patch contraceptives under established safety protocols. It also mandates that private insurance and Medicaid cover up to a 12-month supply upfront with $0 co-pay.

  • Why it matters: It eliminates monthly pharmacy runs and unnecessary cost barriers, ensuring that birth control is accessible, affordable, and readily available in every community.

3. The Doula & Maternal Support Infrastructure Act

Breanna Fights For, "Dignity in Delivery: Community Care for Every Parent."

Every parent deserves safe, compassionate, and dignified care before, during, and after childbirth. High maternal mortality rates, particularly in rural and underserved urban areas, require systemic solutions.

  • What it does: Establishes a state grant program to fund community-based doula training in high-mortality regions, raises Medicaid reimbursement rates to sustainable levels, and guarantees birthing patients the right to have certified birth workers present in hospital settings.

  • Why it matters: By expanding the maternal healthcare workforce and integrating trusted community advocates into labor rooms, we can directly reduce maternal mortality and improve outcomes for families.

Protecting Providers and Family-Building

Beyond these core bills, Breanna's comprehensive approach to healthcare includes:

  • Protecting Healthcare Providers: Doctors, nurses, and specialists should never face criminal prosecution or jail time simply for doing their jobs and providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

  • Safeguarding Fertility Services: Breanna stands firmly against attacks on IVF and other fertility treatments. She will fight to ensure that family-building services remain legally protected, affordable, and fully covered by health plans.
